As I am working and moving toward Scotland, I’m finding that God loves surprises.

Yesterday, I got asked to take some kids to Costa Rica on a mission trip. I know these kids from my home church. They are AWESOME, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store. Please pray for the trip: it’s July 11-18th.

Psalm 84:6 (Amplified): “Passing through the Valley of Weeping (Baca), they make it a place of springs; the early rain also fills [the pools] with blessings.”

This is one of my favorite verses about rain. It shows that no suffering in our lives is purposeless. I can’t tell you how many tears I’ve shed on this journey, but now that I’ve said yes, I delight to know that those tears created pools of blessing. I cried some tears of joy yesterday – that God has chosen me and has confirmed it so many times. I rejoice that He chose me in the first place, brought my family to Him, and brings me more clearly into His purposes each day.

In the meantime, I am also progressing with guitar and mandolin. One of my friends gave me Eddie Vedder’s soundtrack for the film Into the Wild. I really want to learn the song “Rise” on mandolin. It’s SO beautiful.
